Bone | Smart Collagen

Why Collagen for the bones?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, found in the bones, plus muscles, skin, and tendons. Healthy bones are made of a matrix of collagen that is hardened by calcium phosphate. A clinical trial showed that taking 5 grams of collagen peptides daily, plus 400iu Vitamin D3 and 500mg calcium (which we are going to try and encourage to source from our food), for three months, maintained strong bones.
This is great news, from our 30’s, our bone density naturally begins to decrease. This effect is made worse by our modern sedentary lifestyle of prolonged sitting and nutrient-poor food.

Plus as we move towards menopause, our oestrogen levels begin to drop, and we lose its protective effect on our bones. Our bones become more porous, brittle, and liable to break.

It’s a sad statistic that less than 50% of people who suffer a hip fracture make a full recovery.

The great news is that our bones have a natural ability to regenerate when given the right kind nutrients. Our signature collagen blend is a nutrient-dense formulation of type I and III collagen peptides – sprinkled with Vitamin D to optimise calcium absorption – strengthening your bones, joints, cartilage and tendons.

Where does Active Range source the ingredients for BONE | SMART?

Active Range sources the best quality ingredients to support your active ageing. The grass-fed bovine collagen is from Brazil and the Vitamin D is from Switzerland.

The packaging was designed and supplied by an Australian Sydney business and manufacturing happened nice and local to Active Range in Brisbane, Australia.

Can I add BONE | SMART to my food or drink?

Most definitely. Our signature BONE | SMART is unflavoured, making it perfect to add to your hot|cold drink, smoothie or hot|cold food.
Try our Green Smoothie recipe with added Vitamin C for healthy bones.

Is BONE | SMART vegan?

Sorry this products is bovine collagen, sourced from a cow.

Does BONE | SMART contain gluten or dairy?

There is no added gluten or dairy in our products.

When is the best time to take BONE | SMART?

Although there has been no scientific recommendation for the best time to take collagen, there has been support to take Vitamin D3 in the morning because it is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means it is best absorbed when you take it with food.

Watch out for some inner-health recipes on our Bone Health blog to compliment BONE | SMART goodness.

Can’t I just take a calcium supplement to fix my bones?

Calcium is an important nutrient for bone health but on its own, not enough.
Collagen + Vitamin D3 will be working on the inside to maintain bone strength and our BONE | SMART exercises will be working from the outside to stimulate your bone cells to grow – plus you get the added benefits of better balance, improved muscle tone, more energy… need I go on?

Can I take BONE | SMART if I am pregnant or breast-feeding?

We always recommend speaking with your healthcare professional before taking any supplements during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, our products are all 100% natural, quality sourced and do not contain anything artificial.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a total body exercise, developed almost one hundred years ago by Joseph Pilates, to rehabilitate injured WW1 soldiers and later, for strength and conditioning of dancers.

The traditional method is low-impact, focusing on flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. The exercises are performed with an emphasis on precision technique, balanced postural alignment, core strength, controlled, flowing movements, and using breath to centre the mind.

Pilates compliments all other fitness endeavours and, adding it into your routine will help you do everything better. Aside from the physical benefits it can reduce stress, improve mental health and enhance your sense of well-being. No matter what your age or fitness level, here at Range Pilates Studio our focus is on your health goals and provide professional help to achieve those goals.
